Cheer is Canada's Fastest growing sport. In fact, it is growing quickly throughout the world. To visit the International All Star Federation website and keep up with Cheerleading around the world, CLICK HERE
The craze with cheerleading is for many reasons: First, it's FUN!! It's combines the athletic components that encompass sport: power, flexibility, strength, endurance, fitness and mental tenacity. The sport has grown to a place where athletes work towards mastering tumbling skills, stunting, jumps, movement, performance skills and team work. On top of all that, the DANCING part is also a favorite for the athletes.
Did you know that the Province of BC alone now has 4000 cheerleaders involved in either community, school, university, club or ALL STAR cheerleading?
The Vancouver All Star Program ALONE has 12 teams and 300 competitive and Elite Cheer athletes with an additional 150 members taking All in One or Pre Competitive Cheerleading or just tumbling.
Cheer has recently applied to the International Olympic Committee to be considered as a Competing sport at the Olympics. This year will be the FIRST legitimate World Championship with each country only being able to supply ONE NATIONAL team per division at the Worlds Nations Cup Championships in Orlando Florida the Friday before the two-day Worlds All Star Club Championship that our teams attend.
